It’s official. Joe Biden is the 46th president of the United States of America. It is now time to ask yourself some important questions: What does that mean for our country? Will it actually result in positive change for those who are suffering? Did I only ever support him because I was blinded by my hatred of orange man?
The sad reality is that most have turned their back on politics now that Biden has been sworn in. They only ever cared because corporate news outlets told them to.
Biden has proposed many progressive policies. This is true. The issue with that is realized when one takes a look at his horrendous record. Politicians often lie, and Biden is not exactly an exception to the rule–he’s more like its poster child.
His first executive orders and proclamations bring hope for tomorrow, potentially providing a clear path to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants, finally addressing the existential crisis of climate change, and so much more, but can we trust him to follow through? Doubtful.
In the meantime, the working class must unite and demand change. We cannot merely hope for a better tomorrow. We must take action.
